A great mindful activity to do with the kids is to get them to fully tune into their own heartbeat!
How do I practice this with my kids? π€·ββοΈ
Have them stand up and place one hand on their heart. Ask them to listen to the beat. Stay silent for as long as you can, really allowing them the time to be still, connect and tune in.
Once they have connected to their heart beat ask them how it feels? Does it feel calm? Does it feel soft? Does it feel happy? Is it beating slow? Is it beating fast?
Now ask them to do 1 minute of running on the spot, jumping jacks, jumping up and down or any activity to get the heart rate going! πββοΈ
After the one minute ask them to place their hand back on their heart, be still and silent. Can you feel your heartbeat again? Does it feel any different? How does your breath feel? Is it faster? Is it slower? Is it strong?
